Once again, my favorite day of the week is upon us! Happy Wagon Wednesday, everybody. This week, rather than a feature focused on a single wagon, I thought I would bring you several wagons to ogle over.

The Mecum Chicago auction just finished. It ran from October 10-12 and was in Schaumburg, IL. While everyone else thinks of Mecum, Barrett Jackson, and other large auctions for the muscle cars, some of us see things in a different light. We have wagon disorders, and are proud to admit it! So, for this Wagon Wednesday here are a few photos of some really awesome wagons that went across the auction block.

These were taken by Tom De Veno and posted here on Auto Waffle with his permission. Tom is a member of the Facebook group The Longroof Society, which is an open group for anyone to join.

Enough of that, though. I’m sure you came here to see some wagons!

Edsel wagon Mecum Chicago 2013

A rarely seen Edsel Villager station wagon.

Edsel Villager Wagon Mecum Chicago 2013

Despite being universally panned by critics upon its release, I actually like the Edsel.

Packard Wagon Mecum Chicago 2013

This one looks like a Packard? Can anyone identify?

Pontiac GTO wagon tri-power Mecum Chicago 2013

A Pontiac LeMans wagon made to look like a GTO. Sweet.

1956 Chevy Nomad Mecum Chicago 2013

I really like this 1956 Chevy Nomad, too. Definitely in my personal top 5 wagon dream list.

1957 Chevrolet Nomad Mecum Chicago 2013

I wouldn’t kick a 1957 wagon out of my garage, either.

1957 Chevy sedan delivery Mecum Chicago 2013

For me, though, the Sedan Delivery reigns supreme. Look at that magnificent beast!

Dodge Wagon Mecum Chicago 2013

Can anyone identify this classic Dodge station wagon?

Sure, none of those wagons were probably in the top 10 selling cars of the day, but they should have been. Classic station wagons showcase an era of American motoring and a unique experience that is all but gone from the roads of today. So I ask you, readers, which of these would you most like to have sitting in your garage?
