A race car, a plane, and a beach – one balanced breakfast

Here’s something a little different for your Sunny Side Up morning feature.

I know, I’ve been posting a great deal of material from the Australian V8 Supercars series. I promise, though, this isn’t a V8 blog (well, it might be, but not an Australian V8 blog anyway). The more I see these cars, the more I want to go see them race live. I might have to start saving my pennies to go see them race in Austin next year.

Anyway, here’s a video of Jamie Whincup in the #1 Red Bull Racing Holden VF Commodore racing on the Gold Coast of Australia with one of the pilots from Red Baron Australia. Red Baron is a company that provides rides in stunt planes for consumers. I don’t know how comfortable I would be with that, though. Put me behind the wheel of the race car (or, you know, I’ll settle for the passenger seat too, I suppose).

Cross-promotional events like this, even for PR, are nothing new for racing. You might remember a few years ago when Juan Pablo Montoya and Jeff Gordon switched race cars for a day at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. There have been countless others. Which have you enjoyed?
