Car porn: Supercar Sunday

This huge gallery of photos from Supercar Sunday is exactly the dose of car porn needed for Father’s Day.

Anything called “Supercar Sunday” sounds like it’s going to be awesome, right? Everyone loves seeing these cars out in the wild, not in showrooms or at auto shows. It’s a special experience. Even if your favorite car in the world is a Honda Civic or the Chevrolet Camaro that your dad has had in the garage for 20 years because he’s “going to restore it” someday, spotting something like a Ferrari, a Lamborghini, a McLaren, or a Pagani on the street is special. And everyone likes Sunday. We get to rest, to not go to work, and well, here we are. Supercar Sunday was born.

So, I’ll be up front and tell you that I didn’t get to attend Supercar Sunday (but my GOODNESS, I wish I did). Here’s the details, though.

Supercar Sunday isn’t like your standard “Cars and Coffee” car show here in the US. Sure, millions and millions of dollars worth of cars are on display for all to oggle, but Supercar Sunday turns the dial up to 11 (or, to Biscuits and Crazy, as I like to say). Pardon my efforts to translate, since I don’t speak Dutch, and google is… unreliable at best, but from what I gathered on their website, these guys meet, greet, and then take these cars that cost more than my house onto the track.

Awesome. Supercar Sunday sounds like something I can get behind! If you want to learn more, or if you’re better at translating Dutch than Google is, check out their website here.

Here is a map of the TT Ansen circuit on which the cars were run:

I definitely see some nice straightaways, and some potential for high speed fun. Supercar Sunday looks like it was a blast. Some of the best cars in the world on display and a race track make for one fine day to spend an afternoon.

Here’s a HUGE gallery (201 photos!) taken by Lukas de Boer, who attended the event. I have to say, sir, I am incredibly jealous.

Just look at the vast array of cars on display! A Jaguar XJ220, a Koenigsegg Agera R, an Ascaro Ecosse, a LaFerrari… and… and… yeah.

Just look at the gallery and drool. Grab your kleenex – you’re going to need them. We won’t judge.
