Ads are usually annoying, but AutoTrader has called in a little bit of help from the Duke boys….
By now, everyone should be aware of the Dukes of Hazzard and their famous General Lee, which was a 1969 Dodge Charger. Anyone who has ever shopped for a car in the US is also, likely, aware of AutoTrader.
Car shopping, on the whole, can be a pretty stressful and irritating experience. Sites like AutoTrader attempt to make it easier by giving you powerful tools to search for whatever features, colors, options, or specifications you want. Surely, like me, you have spent a night or two (or three… or ten…) browsing what’s available around the country and seeing just how far away you are from owning that “almost attainable” dream performance car you’ve always wanted. Pontiac G8 GXP, I am looking at you. You will be mine someday.
Anyway, Holden/Pontiac lust aside, AutoTrader has created a pretty funny ad for their service – and we’re nowhere near the super bowl. Clearly, someone in their ad department knows their stuff. Take a look at the video below and see what ol’ Bo and Luke Duke are up to in their General Lee.
What do you think about the ad? Funny? Sacrilege? Have the Duke Boys sold their souls for advertising dollars and endorsements from AutoTrader? Tell us in the comments.
Meanwhile, I’ll be heading back to AutoTrader to find my perfect unicorn G8 GXP.
